Detailed NarrativeCaptain Kate (pirate captain, Black Mist) transports the party upriver past Headwater into Serpent's Lake, with the Cassius-School mage Bellbutter Breckett aboard as extra hand — racist toward non-GRE peoples, keeps the ship cloaked. Kate gives the party until dark. The Halls of Bourdain: entrance chamber with holograms of founders Annabelle Bourdain and Xavier Dawncrest. Asking about the forges triggers the Gate Guardian (Huge animated object), whose defeat collapses the gates. The spectral remains of Annabelle and Xavier attack in the Hall of the People ('More Invaders!'). Engineering halls hold Deepstrike Forgegrip, a bog mummy with the Bane of Bourdain blade in his chest — removing it triggers his attack. The flooded Archives contain Rotgore hiding underwater and stone tablets with forge/platemail/Shield of Fury/Everbow plans (800 lb).
