Detailed NarrativeFairbreeze refugees — mainly militants and those who cannot flee — arrive at Lightwatch en masse. Samantha will negotiate sharing rule of Fairbreeze ruins. Able-bodied fighters gravitate to the Hench brothers' rebellion. The Eastguard survivors also pour in. Yolich uses Major Image and Horrific Doubles to pressure the party into opposing the GRE — she wants to stop the GRE's leaders without harming its people, seeing collateral damage as acceptable. Commander Fedist replaces Harrison in command of the east. He immediately militarizes the border, pushing GRE forces into Fairbreeze, Treemarket, and Midmark, using Fairbreeze as his base of operations. Fedist sends Marshal Aidir to treat with the heroes, asking them to hunt down the Hench brothers or simply inform on Darkmoon forces. Captain March is stationed in WillowWood. A catfolk refugee named Retholas arrives in Lightwatch, having escaped from the Blazing Hood mountain prison Kar Kolis — he was captured during the Portal Battle, interrogated for years about Craynoth's library, and recently escaped with other catfolk. Retholas confirms many outsiders are held indefinitely at the prison. The party begins construction on the Forge of Bourdain — Tessa Cinderforce notes it will take approximately 4 months. The missing activation ingredient is a magical crystal matching the description of the runecrystal they recovered and sold to Samantha.
