Refugee reports confirm the Hench brothers have expanded their war to include anyone who doesn't actively oppose the GRE — scorched earth policy in the northern lands. Captain March has been killed by the Hench brothers when his territory overlaps with their missing amulet. Yolich has allied with the Hench brothers and sends a demonic emissary named Diana (a Coloxus demon disguised as a Kitsune) to Ren to negotiate forge access in exchange for information. Glasscliff leader Michael Longshadow is worried about Lightwatch's defensive capacity and considers a GRE treaty for protection — Marshal has offered it. The border town of Darkwillow has been seized by Rieth, a fey sorcerer from New Resish who left Deepwood to pursue fortune under Macklot. Rieth has mind-fogged the town and will use it to stage Darkmoon troops. The party must liberate the town. Rhett and Finnora help settle refugees from Arla. Finnora searches for information about the Medallion of Targol; a reference in Fairbreeze book remnants mentions medallions constructed by the Greycaller family. Steve and Ja'ayne's wedding is planned. Wandering John is expected to appear. The Shield of Fury is now theoretically craftable.
