Detailed NarrativeGatester has been increasingly cut off from trade as the orc war disrupts river traffic. The party is formally invited to a diplomatic dinner and ball hosted by the three ruling trade houses: Charlie Bellows (dock controller, in love with Clair Greenwell), Clair Greenwell (noble family, runs local government, under Ramir's leverage), and Ramir the Gray (underworld ties in Twinport and the GRE, rival of the Adir family, wants Celia Burns displaced in Starfall). Puppet also attends, well-connected and pragmatic, beginning to hedge his bets toward Starfall. The guilds ask Starfall to broker a deal with Bethany Fey, who has imposed a trade embargo on Gatester over elvish silks and wine — if Starfall can resolve this, Gatester will pay +100 gp/cycle. The nobles also want the party to find a helm believed lost in the Hallows, offering a map and +50 gp/cycle if returned (the helm is the one Thomas Hoss is seeking). Perception DC 30 would reveal Ramir hired Faust to potentially target the party; DC 35 reveals negotiations through Puppet.
