Detailed NarrativeThe party arrives in Hallows with a guide and map from prior research. Faust is aware the Athenaeum exists and uses the sealed outer antechamber as a dead-drop, but is not involved in this adventure. The sunken entry courtyard has been claimed as a lair by a Runegorger — a large predatory reptile transformed over decades by the Athenaeum's creation energy into a quasi-magical creature with transmutation abilities. After defeating it, the party must solve the Gnomish Seal: two interlocking mechanical rings with seven dials, set to the Seven Crafting Truths (Build — Transform — Mend — Build — Transform — Build — Mend). Mac does not possess the Spanner entering this adventure — it rests in the Creation Chamber. Near the sealed door, Mac feels an unexplained pull and warmth — the relic sensing its champion from inside. This intensifies through the dungeon. Inside, the Cataloguing Halls house the ogre civilization's research archive — organized by 88 clan symbols and celestial dates. Catalog Wardens (ogre-scale stone constructs) patrol the halls and will grant or deny passage based on knowledge contributions (DC 28 Arcana/History/Society/Crafting). The halls reward lore engagement: the Stacks Corridor holds records of the ogre civilization's first contact with humans; the Reading Room holds an unfinished construct built as a gift for the 88th Clan Gathering (the stasis sphere flashes when Mac touches it, the creation energy recognizing the destined champion); the Gnomish Observation Post holds Fudasfinspal's ancestors' journals explaining why the archive was sealed rather than destroyed — written with guilt and admiration for the ogre civilization. In the Antechamber, two Wardens demand a declaration of intent before granting passage. In the Creation Chamber, the spirit of Moldrath the Last Shaper — the ogre civilization's greatest inventor — rises from a sarcophagus to guard the Spanner. Moldrath presents the Test of the Last Shaper: three questions answerable only by a party that engaged with the dungeon's lore. Passing 2 of 3 allows peaceful resolution. Failure triggers combat.
