Detailed DescriptionHonor Day — the holiday commemorating fallen heroes, observed across the river lands and Arla — became the cover for a wave of targeted strikes. Publicly the violence read as the long-running feud between the Redshield and Freeriver houses, each blaming the other; in truth Tray Galund had quietly engineered the attacks through his agent Seamus Adair to weaken his rivals while keeping Trayalon's hands clean. At Northfork, the strike killed Caivil Strong's two daughters, Tabetha and Guinevere, in a fire — both were engaged to the famed warriors Trevor Lightfist and Michael the Hammer. Fire damage scarred the town for years and a pall of grief settled over it. The attack on the Redshields killed their ruler, but the zealot Galbrand Landus ('Landus the Cruel') fought off the assassins and used the vacuum to consolidate power, preaching anti-outsider revolution. The truth — that Tray was behind it all — stayed buried until Caivil captured the assassin Ash and forced it out of him years later, making Caivil the perfect frame for Tray's own assassination.
