Detailed DescriptionFairbreeze, the home village of the Hesh descendant Simon Fairbreeze and a quiet repository of Hesh knowledge, was struck while the council was occupied with the Crown of Sorin. Brandon Swiftwater's forces arrived seeking information on the Hesh and the Crown of Sorin specifically; they interrogated those with knowledge, carried off many of the elders, and looted and burned the library. The raid reflects the Swiftwater family's defining ambition: unlike most Hesh descendants, who try to prevent repeating the mistakes that caused the Folly, the Swiftwaters (themselves Hesh survivors) have always sought to reclaim the power the Hesh once held. The loss of Fairbreeze's elders and library is part of a broader pattern of the era — knowledge of the Hesh and the gods being destroyed faster than it can be recovered.
