Detailed DescriptionDuring the Rise of the River Lords, the fiercest battles raged over the port where two great rivers meet the sea. The cliffs above the Bay of Gold held a massive fortress — built on the ruins of earlier cities (and the buried Hesh city of Vadesh) and prized as the region's strategic jewel, yet impossible to hold, as every rival Lord conspired against whoever took it. Over the hundred-year instability since the Folly it was destroyed more than a dozen times, each fortress raised on the last, with a wary merchant city always thriving in its shadow. When Tray Galund — a River Lord with a vision broader than his rivals — took the fortress alongside his three brothers and their warriors, he did not merely hold it: he extended the walls down from the keep to the sea to enclose the surrounding city, offered protection and stability to all who settled, and refounded it as Trayalon, named for himself. Tray rallied the people who had not fled and, within a week, established a temporary government and seated the heroes of the siege as an acting council. Within a year the brothers had conquered the neighboring rivals and were installed as lords of the regions; over the following decade rival River Lords abandoned attacks, safe roads and trade routes spread out from Trayalon, and it became the center of activity for the entire river lands. Tray and his brothers were the first of what became the Warriors Guild.
