A community of intelligent undead who have settled in the cave systems of the Twisted Crown Peaks in the NorthFringe. They call themselves the Darakhul. They need life energy to sustain themselves but are described by Fren as 'not all evil.' They have military capacity (undead warriors, beasts in the swamp) and operate with enough organisation to capture prisoners and hold them alive.

Their leader is an Elf Darakhul who wears an Onyx religious symbol, suggesting a Nyx affiliation. The Onyx symbol connects them to the same divine patron as Niko Northen and Lezmara. They may be negotiable under the right circumstances. They have never been destroyed — the party rescued prisoners without eliminating the Darakhul entirely, leaving them as a continuing regional presence.
