Founding of Trayalon (Gallund River Empire)

h-109–110βœ“ Completed12 chapters

The Galund brothers have won several small victories and now stand poised to take River City (CastleCliff), the last pillar needed to anchor a generational empire. Once the city falls, the real challenge begins: governing justly while rival lords, resurrected god-fragments, and treacherous allies all compete to tear the new kingdom apart. The party must balance expansion, diplomacy, and supernatural threats that reach back to the age of the Hesh.

Set in h-year 109, ninety years after Terek's Folly shattered the Hesh Empire, this campaign follows the Galund brothers and their council as they seize the strategic port city of CastleCliff, rename it Trayalon, and forge the foundation of the Gallund River Empire. What begins as a military conquest rapidly expands into statecraft, as the heroes must contend with rival River Lords, a hidden Hesh god sealed within an ancient crown, xenophobic gangs, religious zealotry, and the political machinations of spies and criminals all while trying to hold a fledgling kingdom together. The campaign culminates in the wedding of Admond Galund to Caitlyn (last heir of the Hesh lineage), the assassination of Tray Galund, and a desperate battle to prevent planar collapse beneath the Jade Lotus Monastery.

Story Arc

1–2The Galund brothers besiege and take River City (CastleCliff), defeating its champions. The city is renamed Trayalon and initial governance decisions are made: mercy for captives, trade policy, and Admond agreeing to court Caitlyn, last heir of the Hesh line.
3–5One year on, Trayalon faces its first internal threats. Seamus Adair tips off Solomon to a graveyard conspiracy involving rival River Lords. The party travels to Cliffhaven, meets Drift (Arla diplomat) and Simon Fairbreeze (Hesh descendant), and uncovers the Crown of Sorin β€” a divine relic housing the trapped consciousness of the fallen god. The Steel Princess emerges from monastery catacombs possessed by Sorin, and Galbrand Landus begins preaching against the Galunds.
6–7A three-year time-skip. Duncan's Academy flourishes. The party ties up loose ends: Freespirit confronts rogue rangers, Graak Cinderforce and the Blazing Hood Dwarves arrive with special abilities (Warden tomes), and more is learned about Onyx, Helmar, and the Maker's Marks. A combat tournament in Trayalon introduces Drogul Chickenhammer and Brandon Swiftwater, who is searching for the Crown.
8–9The party ventures north to recover the Crown of Sorin from rogue rangers led by Harred the Old. Blackskull the rift dragon threatens them. Admond and Bris are captured by Swiftwater forces. Seamus brokers a secret meeting and the Doomguard Tel-vis appears at Two Rivers with a void stone capable of destroying Sorin's link to the world. The party must decide the fate of the Crown.
10–11The party travels to Riverguard in the Redshield territory to retrieve Craig Galund. They encounter Gregor of Riverguard (Redshield zealot), Viviana the Mad (resistance symbol), and uncover a plot by Gregor and Madame Flicket to take over Landings' businesses. The world expands: the party assists Marcus Galund in governing NorthFork and deals with petitions and governance across the growing empire.
12The grand wedding of Admond Galund and Caitlyn, daughter of the old River City lord and Hesh descendant. During the feast, Tray Galund is assassinated. Flicket frames Caivil Strong for the murder. The council must confront the succession crisis, Rift Shadows escaping from beneath the monastery, and the political fallout that reshapes the empire.
