The hidden subterranean workshop of the gnome arcane researcher Fudasfinspal ('Fin'), beneath his unassuming house in Tinkersville. The house above is ordinary, but a large magic circle set in the middle of the floor flips open at a command word — 'Invent the new Seventh Rock' — and to a detect magic the whole place radiates power from beneath the floor. Below lies the Invention Zone: a wall-mounted case of glowing glass spheres (Projections of Knowledge) played back through a brass beam-projector on a tripod, with five passages branching off it.
